Curriculum Advisor

About the role

The Curriculum Advisor will lead educational change across schools, kura and early‑learning services in the Southland region. Working from our Invercargill office, you will support the implementation of the knowledge‑rich curriculum, assessment and aromatawai practices, ensuring they have a measurable impact on all learners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to leadership teams, teachers and kaiako on curriculum and assessment implementation.
• Design and deliver whole‑school curriculum change programmes aligned with local needs and national priorities.
• Develop and share high‑quality support materials and professional learning resources.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of curriculum initiatives on learner outcomes.
• Collaborate with regional teams to tailor implementation support for diverse communities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading whole‑school curriculum and assessment change.
• Deep understanding of the science of learning and effective pedagogies.
• Demonstrated ability to work with the New Zealand national curricula.
• Strong communication skills and capacity to influence educational practice.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and related assessment frameworks.
• Expertise in curriculum design and whole‑school implementation.
• Ability to analyse data to inform teaching and learning improvements.
