About the role
The Curriculum Advisor works from the Blenheim office to support schools and kura across the region. You will advise teachers and Kaiako on designing high‑quality teaching and learning programmes that align with government curriculum priorities and promote equitable outcomes for all students.
Key responsibilities
- Provide guidance on the development of teaching and learning programmes, including assessment practices.
- Identify and deliver curriculum solutions that meet diverse educational needs, focusing on equitable achievement.
- Support schools and kura in collaborating with whānau, hapū and iwi to reflect community aspirations.
- Build collaborative networks within local communities and share best practices.
Required profile
- Proven experience building effective relationships and partnerships.
- Strong curriculum design expertise with deep knowledge of literacy, communication, maths teaching (primary) or te reo matatini/pāngarau (Māori medium).
- Extensive experience in teaching, learning, leadership, and curriculum‑assessment theory.
- Understanding of te ao Māori, including Te Reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori.
- Demonstrated ability to support curriculum design that improves outcomes for diverse communities.
- Excellent diplomacy, interpersonal and facilitation skills.

What we offer
- Salary range $100,296 – $121,490 per annum plus KiwiSaver.
- Permanent full‑time position based in Blenheim.
