Curriculum Advisor – Education Support (Whakatane)

About the role
The Curriculum Advisor will work from our Whakatāne office to support early‑learning centres, schools and kura across the Bay of Plenty. You will partner with teachers, kaiako and whānau to develop high‑quality teaching and learning programmes that align with government curriculum priorities and promote equitable outcomes for all tamariki.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on curriculum design, assessment practices and programme development for early‑learning, primary and secondary settings.
- Collaborate with schools, kura, kōhanga reo and community groups to ensure programmes reflect the aspirations of whānau, hapū and iwi.
- Identify and deliver high‑quality resources that address diverse educational needs, with a focus on literacy, communication, mathematics or te reo Māori.
- Build and maintain networks within the region, sharing best practice and fostering collaborative improvement.
- Support professional change by guiding teachers and kaiako through curriculum implementation.
Required profile
- Proven experience establishing effective partnerships to achieve shared educational outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of curriculum design and practical experience in literacy, communication, mathematics or te reo Māori teaching.
- Extensive understanding of teaching, learning, leadership and assessment theory and practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and reflect cultural values in programme design.
