About the role
Crown Law is seeking seasoned lawyers with 7‑10 years of post‑qualification experience to join its Crown Counsel team in Auckland and Wellington. The role sits within the Attorney‑General and Crown Legal Risk groups, focusing on Treaty of Waitangi and public law matters.
Key responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to litigation files as senior counsel.
- Provide legal advice to Ministers and senior government officials.
- Manage client relationships across government departments.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Crown Counsel team and across other practice groups.
Required profile
- 7‑10 years post‑qualification experience in litigation, public law, or related fields.
- Proven ability to advise senior government stakeholders.
- Strong client‑relationship management and mentorship skills.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a government‑focused environment.
