Court Victim Advisor

About the role
This permanent, full‑time position is based at the Invercargill District Court. The Court Victim Advisor provides vital support to victims of crime, ensuring they are kept informed and can participate effectively in the criminal justice process.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain regular contact with victims, updating them on case progress.
- Facilitate victims' participation in court proceedings.
- Liaise with court staff, police, and other stakeholders to coordinate victim support.
- Provide clear information about victims' rights and available services.
- Travel to other courts within the regional cluster as required.
Required profile
- Resilience when working with people affected by serious crime.
- Calm, empathetic demeanor and ability to relate to diverse individuals.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work under pressure.
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence.
