Court Security Manager

About the role

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Court Security Manager to lead one of ten security teams across the central region. Based in Tauranga District & High Court, you will ensure a safe environment for the public to access justice while collaborating with a range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coach and mentor team members to reach their full potential.
• Oversee daily operations in a complex security environment and make rapid, sound decisions.
• Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring safe and professional court operations.
• Build relationships with diverse people, agencies such as NZ Police, Corrections and Te Oranga Tamariki.
• Attend a three‑week residential training course in Wellington within three months of start.

Required profile

• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Customer‑service orientation with the ability to de‑escalate conflict.
• Physically able to engage in full‑contact officer safety techniques.
• Hold a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

• Confidence in using security‑related technology systems.
