Court Registry Officer

About the role
The Court Registry Officer supports the smooth operation of the Gisborne District Court. You will interact with judges, lawyers, families, and other stakeholders, providing both administrative and customer‑service assistance in a dynamic legal environment.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate court proceedings, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori and assisting them in courtroom and chambers.
- Manage the on‑site customer service hub, responding to queries face‑to‑face, by phone, or email.
- Maintain accurate case files, perform extensive data entry, and ensure records are up‑to‑date.
- Provide general administrative support to the court, handling documentation and routine tasks.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex court processes.
- Resilience and professionalism when dealing with sensitive or high‑volume cases.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing legislation and procedures.
