Court Registry Officer

About the role
The Court Registry Officer will join the Auckland District Court family jurisdiction team, supporting the smooth operation of the court. You will interact with judges, jurors, lawyers, police, families and other stakeholders, delivering high‑quality customer service and accurate case administration.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate court taking, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori, managing jurors and handling courtroom administration.
- Provide front‑line customer service in person, by phone and email, answering queries and guiding visitors.
- Maintain case files, perform data entry and ensure records are up‑to‑date and accurate.
- Liaise with defendants, witnesses, Oranga Tamariki, lawyers, police officers and other court users.
Required profile
- Strong customer‑service orientation with confident communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, observant and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Resilient and able to handle sensitive, high‑volume cases.
- Self‑aware, collaborative and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to changing legislation and court processes.
