Court Registry Officer

About the role
The Court Registry Officer will join the North Shore District Court family jurisdiction team, supporting the smooth operation of the court. You will interact with judges, lawyers, police, Oranga Tamariki, and members of the public, providing professional service in a dynamic legal environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with court taking, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori, managing jurors, and handling courtroom administration.
- Provide front‑line customer service in person, by phone, and via email, answering queries and guiding visitors.
- Maintain accurate case files, perform data entry, and ensure case information is up‑to‑date.
- Support judges in both courtroom and chambers settings, handling confidential and sensitive matters.
Required profile
- Detail‑oriented with strong observational skills to ensure accurate case handling.
- Self‑aware and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Capable of multitasking and shifting quickly between repetitive and varied tasks.
- Eager to learn and adapt to changing legislation and court procedures.
- Resilient when dealing with high‑volume or sensitive cases.
