Court Registry Officer

About the role
The Court Registry Officer supports the smooth operation of the District and High Court in Whangārei. Working within the Justice Service, you will interact with judges, jurors, legal parties and the public to ensure court processes run efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate court proceedings, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori and managing courtroom logistics.
- Oversee juror administration and general court administration tasks.
- Coordinate case management, ensuring all parties have the necessary information and that cases are scheduled promptly.
- Provide front‑line customer service via face‑to‑face, phone and email, handling enquiries and directing them appropriately.
Required profile
- Highly detail‑oriented and observant, able to manage complex court processes accurately.
- Self‑aware and adaptable, comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and shift quickly between repetitive and urgent tasks.
- Willingness to learn continuously as legislation and court procedures evolve.
- Resilience when dealing with sensitive or high‑volume casework.
