About the role
The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Court Registry Officer to support the Civil registry of the Auckland High Court. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, liaising with judges, lawyers, police, defendants and the public while ensuring smooth court operations.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate court proceedings, introduce judges in English and Te Reo Māori, and manage jurors and courtroom administration.
- Provide front‑line customer service in person, by phone and email, addressing court‑related queries.
- Maintain accurate case files, perform data entry, and ensure cases progress through the justice system.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders, including judges, lawyers, police officers and court users.
Required profile
- Highly detail‑oriented and observant.
- Self‑aware and able to handle a variety of customer situations.
- Capable of multitasking and managing conflicting priorities.
- Eager to learn and adapt to changing legislation and processes.
- Resilient when dealing with sensitive cases and high workloads.
