About the role
The Court Registry Officer supports the smooth operation of the Court of Appeal by liaising with judges, appellants, witnesses and lawyers. You will work in a dynamic environment, providing front‑line customer service and ensuring accurate case administration.
Key responsibilities
- Court taking – introduce judges in English and Te Reo Māori, manage jurors, and handle courtroom and chambers administration.
- Customer service – respond to queries face‑to‑face, by phone or email at the on‑site service hub.
- Case management – maintain up‑to‑date case files, perform extensive data entry and ensure information accuracy.
Required profile
- Strong customer‑service orientation and quality decision‑making.
- Detail‑oriented, observant and able to manage repetitive processes accurately.
- Self‑aware, confident working individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to multi‑task, handle conflicting priorities and shift quickly between tasks.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing legislation and court procedures.
- Resilience when dealing with sensitive or high‑volume cases.
