Court Registry Officer

About the role

The Court Registry Officer supports the smooth operation of the District Court in Auckland. Working within the Justice Services team, you will interact with judges, jurors, court staff and the public to ensure cases are managed efficiently and professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate court proceedings, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori, managing jurors and handling courtroom administration.
• Coordinate case management activities, ensuring judges and parties have accurate information and that logistical arrangements are in place for timely hearings.
• Provide front‑line customer service to the public via face‑to‑face, telephone and email enquiries.
• Liaise with a range of stakeholders across the justice system, maintaining clear communication with judges, chambers and court personnel.

Required profile

• Highly detail‑oriented and observant, with the ability to handle repetitive processes accurately.
• Self‑aware and able to work both independently and as part of a team across varied situations.
• Strong multi‑tasking skills, capable of shifting quickly between priorities.
• Eager to learn and adapt to changing legislation and court procedures.
• Resilient when dealing with sensitive cases and high‑volume periods.
