Court Registry Officer – Hamilton District Court

About the role

The Court Registry Officer will join the Hamilton District Court team, supporting the smooth operation of court proceedings. You will interact with judges, jurors, legal parties and the public, ensuring that court processes run efficiently and professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate court taking, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori, managing jurors and handling general courtroom administration.
• Oversee case management by providing judges and parties with necessary information and coordinating logistics to keep hearings on schedule.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service through face‑to‑face, phone and email interactions.
• Travel to other Waikato courts as required, maintaining a clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

• Detail‑oriented and observant, with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Self‑aware and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of multitasking and handling conflicting priorities.
• Eager to learn and adapt to changing legislation and court procedures.
• Resilient when dealing with sensitive or high‑volume case loads.
