About the role
Auckland Council is seeking an experienced Corporate Facilities Manager to lead the operational management of a diverse portfolio of facilities across the South Region. This critical role ensures that corporate offices, local boards and a 24/7 operational facility remain safe, compliant, resilient and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities
- Manage facilities and assets across the South Region corporate property portfolio, including a critical 24/7 operational site.
- Develop and implement maintenance and asset management plans to support long‑term performance and sustainability.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance programmes, asset renewals and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage facilities management contracts and service providers, driving performance, accountability and value‑for‑money outcomes.
- Monitor asset condition, manage operational risks and support lifecycle planning to maximise resilience.
- Support delivery of capital works, refurbishment projects and asset renewal programmes.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, local boards, mana whenua and community partners.
- Provide leadership during operational incidents and participate in after‑hours response when required.
Required profile
- Significant experience in facilities management, property operations or asset management.
- Proven success managing complex facilities portfolios, ideally including critical or high‑availability environments.
- Strong knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning, maintenance strategies and risk management practices.
- Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills.
