Corporate Communications Specialist

About the role

Westpac NZ is seeking an emerging communications professional to join its People and Communications team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Communications, you will help shape the bank’s most visible internal communications, turning strategic priorities into engaging stories that inspire and connect employees.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver company‑wide updates on strategy, performance and culture initiatives.
• Create leadership communications, enterprise publications and other internal content.
• Translate complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure consistent messaging.
• Support multimedia projects, including video production and editing where needed.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in internal or external communications, journalism or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling abilities.
• Creative mindset with curiosity and a willingness to introduce fresh ideas.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality output.
• Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities at pace.
• Collaborative approach and confidence working with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience creating multimedia content (video production/editing) is an advantage.
• Relevant tertiary qualification is preferred.
