Control Room Operator

About the role

The Security team at Tātaki Auckland Unlimited is seeking a motivated Control Room Operator to help keep the city safe. Working 24/7 on a roster, you will partner with the Shift Supervisor to monitor CCTV, access‑control and alarm systems, ensuring the safety of people, venues and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor CCTV feeds, access‑control points and alarm panels across multiple locations.
• Respond calmly and efficiently to incidents, following established procedures and best practices.
• Maintain accurate logs of events and actions taken during each shift.
• Coordinate with on‑site security personnel and external agencies when required.
• Assist with routine testing and maintenance of security equipment.

Required profile

• Highly motivated with strong observation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Understanding of security principles, procedures and ethical conduct.
• Willingness to obtain a Certificate of Approval (COA) or NZQA National Certificate in Security (Level 3) if not already held.
• Reliable transport and ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Right to work in New Zealand, two positive references, clear Ministry of Justice check, and pass drug/alcohol testing.
