Contracts Manager

About the role

Stantec’s Water team in New Zealand delivers drinking‑water, wastewater, stormwater and groundwater projects, including dams and hydropower. The Contracts Manager ensures the successful procurement and construction of these projects, providing clients with confidence throughout the delivery phase.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support delivery of water‑related projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Conduct site inspections, field investigations, feasibility assessments and constructability reviews.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, tender documents, contract administration records and project reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and support procurement and construction phases.
• Monitor financial performance, track, forecast and report construction activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, regulators and internal teams.
• Identify and resolve technical and delivery issues in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure project documentation meets client requirements.
• Deliver work in line with company quality, health, safety and environmental standards while managing risks.

Required profile

• Relevant technical tertiary qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in contracts management, procurement or construction phases.
