Contractor Liaison and Permit Issuer

About the role

The Contractor Liaison and Permit Issuer is a permanent, full‑time position within the Engineering Centre of Excellence. You will support contractors and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient entry to our Animal Health manufacturing site in Upper Hutt.

Key responsibilities

• Review, guide and approve permits for contractors, maintenance, projects and production activities.
• Conduct contractor inductions, confined‑space entry planning and capital‑project support.
• Perform monthly audits, KPI reporting and maintain training records for engineering staff and contractors.
• Administer the company’s contractor management systems (e.g., Totara, ePass) and update related procedures.
• Identify and lead process, quality, safety and cost improvements, including SOP updates.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve incidents, changes and compliance issues.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership in a technical environment and strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to anticipate complex work requests and implement safe solutions.
• Experience driving continuous improvement in processes, quality or safety.
• Effective communication to align teams and external partners.

Required skills

• Technical writing
• Proficiency with Totara (or equivalent) learning management system
• Experience using ePass or similar permit management tools
• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance knowledge
• Familiarity with Worksafe NZ regulations
