Consultant Rheumatologist – Wellington Region

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Rheumatologist to join our district‑wide Rheumatology Service, delivering patient‑centred specialist care across multiple hospitals in the Wellington region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive rheumatology care in outpatient clinics across Hutt, Wellington, Kenepuru and Masterton hospitals.
• Conduct inpatient consultations and participate in the acute on‑call roster.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of seven rheumatologists and five specialised nurses.
• Contribute to service development, including expansion of musculoskeletal ultrasound capability.

Required profile

• Medical qualification with specialist registration in rheumatology.
• Commitment to patient‑centred, evidence‑based care and shared decision‑making.
• Willingness to work across multiple hospital sites in the Wellington region.
