Consultant Haematologist – Stem Cell Transplant

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Haematologist with a focus on allogeneic stem cell transplantation to join the Wellington Blood and Cancer Haematology Service. The role involves delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care across inpatient, outpatient and laboratory settings while contributing to service development and national transplant initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical care for malignant and non‑malignant haematology patients, including acute leukaemia, lymphoma and transplant cases.
• Lead outpatient clinics, inpatient wards and laboratory oversight with a focus on allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, the Clinical Leader of Oncology and the Director of Medical Services to ensure seamless patient pathways.
• Participate in national transplant forums, case discussions and quality‑improvement projects.
• Contribute to clinical governance, teaching and service development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Haematologist with experience in stem cell transplantation or recent Stem Cell Transplant Fellowship.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver patient‑centred, evidence‑based care.
• Strong clinical leadership and collaborative skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
