Compliance and Audit Manager

About the role

Join Aon New Zealand as a Compliance and Audit Manager and help shape the future of risk and compliance across the business. This Line 2 position sits within the Legal & Compliance team and provides independent oversight, challenges the status quo, and partners with business units to raise standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Line 2 compliance audits and ongoing monitoring of regulated activities.
• Assess the effectiveness of controls, identify risks and gaps before they become issues.
• Report insights, findings and practical recommendations to senior leaders and governance committees.
• Provide advice on projects, product launches and operational changes.
• Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and regulators.
• Act as the privacy and data‑protection officer, adding depth to the compliance function.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in compliance, audit or risk within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand regulatory environment, preferably financial advice.
• Excellent analytical ability to spot risks, trends and systemic issues.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication, including report writing and senior‑level presentations.
• Confidence to challenge and influence at all organisational levels.
