About the role

As a Commercial Manager you will shape the success of a diverse portfolio of commercial customers in the Nelson region. You will build trusted relationships, deliver tailored banking solutions and support business growth while providing expert credit and risk guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead proactive business development and identify growth opportunities.
• Assess complex credit needs and structure deals.
• Provide expert guidance to customers navigating opportunities and challenges.
• Deepen customer connections and grow quality lending.
• Collaborate with a Commercial Associate and specialist partners to support businesses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial or business banking relationship management.
• Confidence in credit and risk assessment, including complex deal structuring.
• Strong ability to build trusted customer relationships and influence outcomes.
• Experience identifying business development opportunities in competitive markets.
• Proficiency in applying sound judgement to financial analysis and portfolio management.
• Strong commercial acumen with a commitment to delivering great customer outcomes.
