Commercial Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join the ANZ Commercial & Finance Team of Detpak, a leading global packaging business. In this role you will provide financial and operational analysis that supports the ANZ sales entities, helping to drive strategic partnerships and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Sales team to prepare, analyse and present customer tenders.
• Ensure compliance with government and industry legislative requirements.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end financial tasks, including general ledger and balance‑sheet reconciliations and profit & loss reporting.
• Identify low‑margin categories, recommend actions based on market intelligence, and manage customer rebate agreements.
• Produce customer profitability reports, highlight performance against targets and suggest cost‑improvement opportunities.
• Review and manage cost‑to‑serve for NZ entities, flag budget deviations and propose cost‑effective alternatives.
• Generate monthly cash‑flow statements and forecasts, maintaining creditor and loan commitments.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
• Strong commercial acumen with negotiating and influencing abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Resilient, proactive and committed to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
