Cloud Security Operations Engineer

About the role

Halter is looking for a Cloud Security Operations Engineer to protect its rapidly scaling AWS infrastructure that supports hundreds of thousands of field devices and a mobile/web platform used daily by farmers. The role is hands‑on and focuses on building security systems that enable fast, secure development.

Key responsibilities

• Secure and continuously improve Halter’s AWS environment across managed and self‑managed services.
• Deploy, configure, and operate security tooling on cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances.
• Write and maintain Terraform/IaC to roll out security controls safely and repeatably.
• Investigate security events and incidents, assess severity, drive mitigations, and embed learnings into preventive measures.
• Enhance incident response readiness through playbooks, alert quality improvements, and automation.
• Evaluate and roll out new security capabilities such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR improvements, and advanced log pipelines.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience securing AWS cloud environments.
• Proven ability to operate and improve security tooling and processes.
• Strong incident response and investigation skills.
• Collaborative mindset to work closely with platform and application security teams.
