Clinical Radiation Oncology Consultant (Private Practice)

About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Radiation Oncology Consultant to join a leading private cancer centre in Christchurch. You will work within a small, fast‑moving multidisciplinary team delivering a full range of radiation oncology services, including the use of New Zealand’s first MR‑Linac.

Key responsibilities

• Provide radiation oncology consultations and oversee treatment planning and delivery.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, pharmacists and allied health professionals to deliver integrated cancer care.
• Develop and expand the centre’s drug portfolio to increase patient access to advanced therapies.
• Contribute to the growth of a private practice model within the organisation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and continuous quality improvement.

Required profile

• Registration, or eligibility to register, as a Specialist with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Specialist qualification in Clinical / Radiation Oncology obtained in the UK, Ireland, the United States or Australia.

Required skills

• Radiation oncology clinical expertise.
• Experience with chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy.
• Familiarity with MR‑Linac technology and modern radiotherapy planning.
