Clinical Nurse Manager

About the role

Apex Care is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership across disability, mental health, youth and perinatal services. The role supports community‑based teams throughout Waikato and, as needed, Northland and the Bay of Plenty.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor clinical staff delivering high‑quality, safe and culturally responsive care.
• Ensure compliance with ACC contracts and community‑based disability support standards.
• Strengthen relationships with funders, partners and stakeholders.
• Contribute to service development, continuous improvement and strategic planning.
• Travel between regions to support teams and oversee service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in the disability sector.
• Strong knowledge of ACC contracting and community disability support frameworks.
• Demonstrated cultural competence, ideally with conversational te reo Māori and familiarity with Māori health models.
• Excellent organisational, leadership and communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel across regions and work flexibly.

Required skills

• Solid computer literacy and confidence with reporting systems.
