Civil Estimator – Construction Projects

About the role

MaxBuild, a leading specialist in concrete repair and remediation, is expanding its senior management team. The Civil Estimator will join the tender and bid team, collaborating with the Managing Director, Project Managers, and Engineers to secure new projects across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage tender programmes and documentation.
• Liaise with clients and subcontractors to gather project information.
• Provide engineering solutions and alternatives to strengthen tender proposals.
• Participate in senior management planning and workload forecasting.
• Contribute to the company’s ISO accreditation and systems optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in the civil sector, with at least half in an estimating role.
• Proven track record of winning projects and understanding of NZS3910 standards.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• New Zealand residency or unrestricted work permit and a full driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project (MS Projects).
