Civil Engineering Designer – Transport (Wellington)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Designer to join our Wellington Transport team at AECOM. The role offers hands‑on experience on major aviation, highway, urban and renewable‑energy projects across New Zealand, working side‑by‑side with an experienced Digital Designer.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, geometric design and civil drafting activities for transport and aviation projects.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers on large‑scale infrastructure programmes.
• Prepare technical documentation, modelling and project coordination deliverables.
• Develop practical design capability through direct mentoring and training.

Required profile

• Qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Design, Surveying or a related field.
• Some practical experience in infrastructure, surveying, drafting or civil design.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Experience with Autodesk software suite – AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Infraworks (preferred).
