Civil Construction Surveyor – 2 Year Fixed-Term

About the role

The Civil Construction Surveyor will deliver accurate and timely surveying services for the Waihi North Project, supporting the construction of the tailings storage facility and associated infrastructure. This is a two‑year fixed‑term position based on‑site in Waihi, New Zealand, reporting to the construction engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform survey set‑out and verification for civil construction works, including the tailings storage facility, access roads, drainage, and water treatment plant upgrades.
• Establish, maintain and verify survey control networks, benchmarks and construction control across multiple work fronts.
• Capture field survey data for progress measurement, quality verification, environmental control checks and as‑built records.
• Prepare and review survey information, drawings, models and data files received from designers for use by construction teams and machine‑control systems.
• Calculate quantities and volumes for cut/fill, stockpiles, embankments, excavations, backfill and progress claims.
• Verify construction tolerances, support hold points, quality inspections and provide as‑built deliverables.
• Maintain survey instruments, equipment, software and data collectors, coordinating calibration and servicing to ensure accuracy.
• Produce regular survey reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
