Civil Bid Manager – Major Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Fulton Hogan is seeking a Civil Bid Manager to lead the development and delivery of winning bids for major civil construction projects across New Zealand. The role will manage the full bid lifecycle from early opportunity insight through to contract award, ensuring proposals are cost‑effective and aligned with client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop insight and positioning for selected opportunities before procurement begins.
• Lead bid/no‑bid decisions by assessing risk, deliverability and strategic fit.
• Translate civil delivery experience into practical methodologies, staging plans and construction approaches.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including estimating, engineering, HSEQ, commercial and legal.
• Align technical solutions with pricing strategy and ensure compliance with governance and risk frameworks.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of civil infrastructure experience, including hands‑on project delivery.
• Proven ability to read technical documents and identify risk, complexity and opportunity.
• Strong written, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel across Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch as required.
