Checkout Operator

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Checkout Operator to join our Woolworths Supermarkets New Zealand team. In this customer‑facing position you will be the final point of contact for shoppers, ensuring a smooth and pleasant checkout experience across our stores.

Key responsibilities

• Provide face‑to‑face customer service at the checkout lanes.
• Accurately process cash, card and EFTPOS transactions.
• Assist customers using self‑service checkout stations.
• Enforce age‑restricted sales policies for tobacco, alcohol and related products.
• Maintain a clean and organised checkout area.

Required profile

• Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to work on your feet for the duration of the shift.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, welcoming attitude.
• Team‑player who can follow store processes and procedures.

Required skills

• Cash handling and EFTPOS operation.
