Charge Nurse Manager – Operating Theatres

About the role

Allevia Hospital Ascot is seeking a Perioperative Charge Nurse Manager to lead the General, Gynaecology and Plastics (GGP) operating theatre team. This permanent, full‑time role works primarily Monday‑Friday days and reports to the Theatre Manager, joining a stable leadership group of four other Charge Managers and several Theatre Leads.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of approximately 25 senior RNs and RNFSAs across the GGP theatres.
• Manage people, material and financial resources efficiently to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
• Ensure high standards of patient safety, quality of care and exceptional customer service.
• Foster collaborative relationships with anaesthetists, surgeons and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to business growth and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current NZ registration as a Registered Nurse with a valid APC.
• Minimum 5 years of scrubbing experience in General, Gynaecology and Plastics surgeries (robotics experience desirable).
• At least 3 years of leadership experience in an operating theatre setting within NZ or a comparable health system.
• Post‑graduate qualification in management or peri‑operative practice (desirable).
• Strong judgement, logical problem‑solving skills and a commitment to quality and safety.
