Centre Manager – Early Learning Centre

About the role

We are seeking an experienced early childhood education leader to become the inaugural Centre Manager of a brand‑new, purpose‑built early learning centre in Orewa. This role offers the chance to shape the centre’s culture, build a high‑performing team, and create a welcoming environment for children, whānau and kaiako.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of passionate kaiako.
• Foster a positive, supportive workplace where staff feel valued and inspired.
• Maintain high standards across curriculum delivery, compliance and centre operations.
• Build meaningful relationships with children, whānau and the wider community.
• Create strong local community connections and partnerships.
• Support continuous improvement and nurture a culture of learning and excellence.

Required profile

• Level 7 ECE qualification and current New Zealand Teaching Certification.
• Previous leadership experience as a Centre Manager, Head Teacher or in a senior leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and early childhood education licensing requirements.
• Genuine passion for high‑quality early childhood education.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire, coach and develop others.
• Collaborative leadership style focused on building positive relationships.
