Catering Assistant / Kitchenhand – Flexible Casual (New Plymouth)

About the role

Join a dynamic hospitality team delivering food services across schools, hospitals, aged‑care facilities, hostels and event venues in New Plymouth. This flexible, casual position offers daytime shifts, competitive hourly rates and the chance to gain experience in a variety of kitchen environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen duties.
• Dishwash and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
• Support chefs and catering teams during service periods.
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Provide general kitchen and catering support as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or hospitality setting is preferred.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and reliability.
• Punctual, able to thrive in fast‑paced environments.
• Team‑player with good communication skills.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; Food Safety Unit Standards 167 & 168 are advantageous.
