Category Manager

About the role

Vinarchy is seeking a commercially‑focused Category Manager to join its Auckland team. You will shape the wine category across New Zealand and Australia, turning data insights into growth strategies and influencing major retail partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies for wine and key sub‑categories.
• Lead category reviews and strategic planning with major retailers.
• Analyse shopper, scan and market data to spot trends, risks and opportunities.
• Translate insights into actionable commercial recommendations.
• Partner with Sales to strengthen customer conversations and joint business planning.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with key retail partners.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to align category priorities with growth initiatives.
• Influence decision‑making through data‑led storytelling.
• Manage competing priorities across immediate execution and future planning cycles.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Category Management within FMCG, liquor or a closely related consumer goods environment.
• Strong analytical capability with experience using category, shopper or scan data.
• Commercially astute with the ability to identify the “why” behind the numbers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Confidence presenting insights and recommendations to internal and external audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
