Cargo Agent – Auckland

About the role

Emirates SkyCargo, a leading global air cargo carrier, is seeking a Cargo Agent to join its Auckland team. The role involves ensuring cargo operations meet Emirates standards while delivering excellent service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee GHA service to ensure compliance with Emirates standards, including build instruction, space maximisation, load control, safety and ad‑hoc flight instruction.
• Monitor import cargo receipt and breakdown, resolving any related issues.
• Prepare and verify accurate cargo documentation in line with local regulations and company policies.
• Update flight handling reports, identify irregularities and dispatch post‑flight information to relevant departments promptly.
• Receive and process cargo telephone reservations accurately and efficiently.
• Resolve customer queries, complaints and claims, including escalations from Cargo Agents.
• Perform administrative duties such as data entry, statistics and reporting as directed by the cargo supervisor.
• Provide support, guidance and coaching to junior cargo agents.
• Offer operational support and cover duties (e.g., freighter operations) as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in airline or cargo operations.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods regulations (DG certificate preferred).
• Understanding of weight & balance procedures and live‑animal regulations.
• Proficiency with PC applications, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
• Fluent verbal and written English.
• Legal right to work and live in New Zealand without restriction.
