Cafe Manager – Airport Café

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Café Manager to lead the Fly Thru Café at Christchurch Airport. In this fast‑paced environment you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality food and beverage service to travellers while driving team performance and commercial results.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
• Supervise, coach and develop team members, handling rostering, training and performance management.
• Manage budgets, stock control and financial performance, optimizing revenue and controlling costs.
• Provide exceptional customer service, address feedback and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety and all operational policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Café Manager, Retail Manager or similar leadership role in hospitality.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and driving performance.
• Confident leader able to motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Solid understanding of food safety, health & safety and related compliance requirements.
