Business Service Lead – Managed Services Director

About the role

As a Business Service Lead for Managed Services at PwC New Zealand, you will drive the delivery of high‑quality, technology‑enabled finance services for our clients. You will shape a commercially sustainable offering while building trusted relationships and leading a skilled delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of finance managed services engagements, ensuring quality, scope, risk and commercial expectations are met.
• Oversee recurring finance activities such as month‑end support, reconciliations, management reporting, variance analysis, cash‑flow visibility and board or trustee reporting packs.
• Partner with PwC Partners, client relationship teams and specialists to support senior client conversations and maintain confidence.
• Coach and develop delivery team members, allocate workflow, conduct quality reviews and build capabilities.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardized processes, controls, approved tools, automation and AI‑enabled ways of working.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• Significant senior experience in finance, accounting, commercial advisory, finance operations or managed services.
• Strong understanding of finance function delivery, including month‑end, reconciliations, management reporting, cash‑flow, variance analysis, board reporting, controls and process improvement.
• Proven ability to lead client‑facing finance delivery across multiple engagements and manage expectations.
• Commercial confidence in scope, resourcing, work‑in‑progress, recoverability, billing and margin performance.
• Experience leading and coaching finance, accounting, operations or delivery teams.
• Openness to technology, automation, analytics and AI‑enabled ways of working.
