Business Intelligence Practice Lead

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Business Intelligence professional to create, lead and evolve our Information Technology Centre of Excellence for BI and reporting. The role will be based in New Plymouth or Wellington and will drive the alignment of BI strategy with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain a BI and Reporting Centre of Excellence (COE).
• Ensure BI initiatives are aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals.
• Lead a small team, fostering collaboration between business‑unit analysts and the BI team.
• Provide expert guidance on BI tools, technologies and industry best practices.
• Mentor and support both team members and business analysts.
• Identify and implement process improvements, workflow automation and scalable BI operations.
• Build strong relationships across the company, champion BI adoption and track key performance indicators.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, analytics or data management with a focus on reporting.
• Proven people‑leadership and management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strong collaboration and mentoring abilities across functional teams.
