Business Development Specialist – Technical Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a driven Business Development Specialist to join the APC Technical Solutions team at NZ Safety Blackwoods. The role supports an established customer base across the Lower North Island, focusing on gas detection and flow control solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales and margin growth across the Lower North Island region
• Manage and grow an established customer base, ensuring continuity of service
• Provide technical support and collaborate with internal teams on joint customer calls
• Coach non‑technical teams to improve lead generation
• Develop and execute action plans to achieve sales targets
• Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and customer presentations
• Identify customer needs and deliver tailored technical solutions
• Maintain CRM accuracy and actively manage the sales pipeline
• Work in line with company policies and safety standards

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in technical sales or account management
• Experience in Gas Detection or Flow Control
• Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills
• Proven relationship management capability
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Highly organised, proactive and self‑motivated
• Relevant tertiary qualification (engineering/electrical preferred)
