Business Development Manager – New Business Sales (OTE $220K+)

About the role

Peninsula is seeking a high‑energy Business Development Manager to generate new revenue across the Wellington region. This pure‑hunting position focuses on prospecting, building a pipeline, and closing deals with SME owners, without any account‑management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage new business opportunities through networking, referrals, outbound prospecting and targeted outreach.
• Own the full sales cycle from initial contact to negotiation and contract signing.
• Present Peninsula’s Workplace Relations, HR and Health & Safety solutions to decision‑makers.
• Maintain accurate opportunity data and pipeline visibility in Salesforce.
• Consistently exceed activity, revenue and conversion targets.

Required profile

• Proven track record in new‑business development or field sales, regularly surpassing targets.
• Confidence engaging directly with business owners and senior decision‑makers.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation ability and resilience.
• Self‑motivated, disciplined and comfortable building a personal pipeline.

What we offer

• Base salary up to $150,000 with OTE $220K+ and uncapped commission.
