Business Development Manager – Logistics & Freight

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager to drive new business acquisition across air freight, sea freight, customs brokerage, domestic transport, and warehousing services. You will shape territory and vertical market strategies, build a robust pipeline, and partner with operations and pricing teams to deliver tailored logistics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target new business opportunities across multiple logistics services.
• Develop and execute sales strategies for specific territories and vertical markets.
• Prospect through cold calling, networking, referrals, tenders, and industry events.
• Lead RFI/RFQ/tender submissions in collaboration with pricing and operations.
• Analyse customer supply‑chain requirements and design customized logistics solutions.
• Negotiate rates, SLAs, and contract terms to secure multi‑modal agreements.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and trade‑lane developments.
• Represent the company at trade shows and networking events.
• Ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasting, and performance metrics in CRM.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales.
• Strong knowledge of international air and sea freight operations.
• Understanding of Incoterms, trade lanes, and supply‑chain fundamentals.
• Proven track record of securing new logistics accounts and managing tenders.
• Excellent commercial and pricing acumen.
