Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth by onboarding new finance brokers, nurturing key relationships and securing new business for flexicommercial, a fast‑paced asset finance partner of finance brokers across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and generate leads to develop new broker relationships.
• Leverage industry research, networks, cold/warm calling, meetings, presentations and conferences.
• Meet with potential partners, gather deal information and prepare customer proposals.
• Negotiate commercial terms with vendors and introducers.
• Structure and price proposals for new deals.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Operations to ensure efficient deal processing.

Required profile

• Experience in the broker and aggregator market, preferably within asset finance or commercial lending.
• Strong business acumen and ability to manage complex customer relationships.
• Knowledge of New Zealand financial adviser regulation, including the Financial Advisers Act and the Code of Professional Conduct.
• Self‑motivated, customer‑focused and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel to regional areas across New Zealand.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of asset finance products and relevant legislation.
• Understanding of the Financial Advisers Act and the Code of Professional Conduct for Authorized Financial Advisers.
