Business Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to expand our customer base across the Bay of Plenty. Based in Tauriko, Tauranga, this on‑the‑road role focuses on face‑to‑face engagement, building client relationships and driving growth for a leading food service distributor.

Key responsibilities

• Grow a small customer base into a strong, active portfolio.
• Maintain a consistent call cycle to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into long‑term clients.
• Negotiate and close sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to align supply with demand.
• Deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
• Spend time in the Tauranga branch collaborating with internal teams and handling administrative duties.

Required profile

• Self‑driven sales professional who thrives in a target‑driven environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and manage a regional territory.
• NZ citizenship, residency or valid work visa and successful completion of pre‑employment checks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Salesforce (preferred).
