Business Development Manager – Industry Services

About the role

The Bioeconomy Science Institute is seeking a commercially‑minded Business Development Manager to turn scientific expertise into customer‑focused services. You will work closely with service leaders, scientists and commercial teams to identify opportunities, strengthen relationships and grow the Industry Services portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new and existing business opportunities across the Industry Services portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry partners and stakeholders.
• Analyse market trends, customer needs and service performance to inform strategy.
• Develop business cases, value propositions and growth plans.
• Collaborate with service leaders to improve, grow and optimise service offerings.
• Contribute to a customer‑focused, commercially successful approach across Industry Services.

Required profile

• Curious, analytical and motivated by creating value.
• Experience in business development, consulting, commercial analysis or service management.
• Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to translate technical or scientific concepts into compelling customer solutions.
• Commercial and financial acumen, including experience with business cases, pricing or performance analysis.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to work across teams and bring people together to achieve outcomes.
