Business Development Manager – Canterbury

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to join a leading multi‑disciplinary electrical and building services provider in Canterbury. You will act as the bridge between commercial objectives and technical expertise, working closely with department managers across several divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue high‑value business opportunities that deliver strong profit margins.
• Nurture existing warm client relationships from the inherited database.
• Generate new market leads in the electrical, building and construction sectors.
• Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure seamless execution of sold projects.
• Work with an on‑site Marketing Specialist to develop campaigns and sharpen sales pitches.

Required profile

• Strong “hunter” mentality with a proven ability to cold‑call and build relationships from scratch.
• Experience or familiarity with electrical, building or construction services is a major advantage.
• Strategic thinker capable of analysing margin opportunities and aligning sales tactics.
• Team‑player who enjoys partnering with operational managers to ensure client satisfaction.
