Business Development Advisor

About the role

Volunteer Service Abroad is seeking a Business Development Advisor to support local businesses and cooperatives in Vanuatu. Based in Auckland, you will travel to Vanuatu to share your expertise, help enterprises grow, and create lasting, sustainable impact in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Vanuatu‑based businesses and cooperatives to identify growth opportunities.
• Develop and deliver business plans, market analyses, and sales strategies tailored to local contexts.
• Provide hands‑on training and mentorship to build local capability.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and support the implementation of sustainable business practices.
• Coordinate with VSA staff to ensure logistical support, including flights, accommodation, and living allowance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or new market entry.
• Strong intercultural communication skills and willingness to work in remote settings.
• Ability to travel internationally and adapt to varied environments.
• Passion for community development and creating sustainable change.
