Branch Manager – Christchurch

About the role

Forsyth Barr, one of New Zealand's leading investment advisory firms, is looking for an experienced people leader to head its Christchurch office. As the face of the branch, you will drive strategy, empower your team, and build strong relationships with clients and the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, develop and support Advisers, Associate Advisers and Adviser Assistants.
• Implement the local strategy to meet organisational goals.
• Foster an inclusive, professional and results‑driven culture.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the Christchurch community.
• Support recruitment, talent development and succession planning.
• Oversee operational processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency and excellent client experience.
• Lead marketing activities, events and communications to enhance visibility.
• Uphold high standards of integrity, fairness and professionalism.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a people leader, preferably in financial or professional services.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build trust with stakeholders.
• Level 5 New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services.
• Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to ethical behaviour and professional standards.
