About the role
Join Napier City Council as a Bird Keeper and help protect some of New Zealand’s most iconic wildlife. You will work on‑site in Napier Central, providing daily care for a diverse collection of birds and contributing to the visitor experience that inspires thousands each year.
Key responsibilities
- Perform animal husbandry duties for birds, ensuring their health and welfare.
- Maintain and clean bird enclosures and related facilities.
- Support educational and visitor programmes by showcasing bird species.
Required profile
- Experience in animal husbandry, preferably in a zoo, aquarium or wildlife setting.
- Ability to work full‑time on‑site for a fixed‑term 12‑month contract.
